Japanese audio brand Denon has announced its new compact network amplifier, built around streaming to target “modern audiophiles”.

The Denon PMA-150H integrated network amplifier also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple Siri.

The PMA-150H can stream music directly from a variety of services like Spotify, Tidal and Deezer, as well as via Airplay 2 and Bluetooth.

The amplifier can also use the high-res HEOS multi-room streaming platform.

Other components can be connected via two analogue RCA inputs, two optical and a coaxial digital input.

The in-built digital-to-analogue also allows USB input, and is capable of handling PCM sample rates up to 32-bit / 384 kHz and DSD5.6MHz.

Four amplifiers using Qualcomm’s next-generation Direct Digital Feedback Amplification (DDFA) push out 70 watts per channel.

There’s also a pre-out for a subwoofer.

While the streaming capabilities are meant to attract younger customers, the amplifier also supports FM and DAB+ radio.

The Denon PMA-150H is due to release overseas this month priced at around £1,099, but a lack of demand means there are currently no plans to bring the product to the Australian market.
