Another Apple Product Launch Slips Into 2017

It’s no secret that Apple’s transition from wired to wireless headphones has been a disaster at every turn. However, much of the focus has been on the delays facing Apple’s own AirPods and the Beats X wireless earbuds have slipped through the cracks as a result.

Announced alongside the AirPods, the Beats X headphones are also still listed for a Fall 2016 release on Apple’s website but nowhere to be seen just 13 days away from Christmas.

According to MacRumors, An Apple reseller emailed a customer recently saying that the Beats X might not ship for “at least 2-3 months.”

The reseller says Apple still does “not know when they will begin shipping this item.”

It’s a bit of an embarrassment for the company, who haven’t missed a for an announced product like this since the iPhone 4.

Dropping the headphone jack might have cost Apple nothing but courage in the heat of the moment but looking back, it’s hard to make the case that the company were at all prepared to make the transition to wireless they’ve attempted to all but force on their customers.
