Sony Australia has taken on Jabra and Bose with the launch of its new EXTRA BASS wireless noise-cancelling headphones – the ‘WH-XB900N’ for $399.95.

The WH-XB900N will release in Australia from August, and be available in either black or blue.

The headphones boast up to 30 hours of wireless playback, deep bass, and support Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Siri.

With just one tap of customised button, users can ask their preferred voice assistant to play their favourite tracks hands-free.

The new WH-XB900N incorporates Digital Noise Cancelling technology, which claims to cut out ambient noise for crisp, detailed audio output.

Using its ‘quick attention feature’, wearers can touch the right ear cup to seamlessly lower music volume and listen into their surroundings.

Touch control allows users to swipe the touchpad on their right ear cup, to play, pause, go back, skip songs, adjust volume levels and more.

With quick charge functionality, users receive up to one hour or wireless playback from just ten minutes of charging.

The headphones follow the launch of the Sony EXTRA BASS WH-XB700 headphones, with its successor pledging better vocal clarity, voice assistant integration and battery life.

Further information and full specifications will be available on Sony Australia’s website here.
