Melbourne based distributor Aqipa has snared the rights to French speaker brand Devialet with the Company planning a massive relaunch and a sub $3,000 model.
Late last year Devialet parted Company with Interdyn in what was seen as a controversial parting of the way at the time questions were raised as to who dumped who.
Shortly afterwards it was suggested that Devialet were set to sell direct how this strategy has been abandoned following the appointment of Aqipa.
ChannelNews understands that several leading distributors stuck their hand up to take on the brand in Australia with Aqipa the eventual winner.

In a statement issued to ChannelNews the Company said that Aqipa is now the exclusive distributor of all Devialet product lines within Australia (Aqipa Australia Pty Ltd) and New Zealand (Aqipa New Zealand Ltd) effective 31st March 2019.
Aqipa will provide end-to-end support for all of our product lines – Phantom Premier, Phantom Reactor and Expert PRO, to existing and new Devialet retailers, from the 31st of March.
The acquisition has seen Aqipa establish a new premium Hi Fi division which has been described as a “perfect fit” for the new French brand.
Christian Trapl (CEO Aqipa GmbH) said that the decision to appoint Aqipa was a major win for the Company that only set up in Australia two years ago.
ChannelNews was told that several distributors walked away from distributing the product in Australia due to questions over the margin being paid by the French Company.
