Akai has launched its new all-in-one Force workstation for DJs and music producers – a product which seeks to remove the laptop from today’s modern music workflow.
Claimed to stop DJs looking as though they’re ‘checking their Facebook’, the Akai Force allows audiences to feel more engaged by removing a laptop from their field of view.
The workstation features a 7-inch multi-touch display with “Ableton Live-style” workflow.

For those who do prefer to use a laptop, the Force claims to offer tight integration with software.
The device incorporates a matrix of 64 velocity-sensitive pads, with four onboard synths.
Users can record their own samples ad hoc, or access a 10GB library of sounds.
Akai’s new Force is set to launch internationally on February 5 for US$1,500, with Australian pricing and availability to be confirmed.
