EXCLUSIVE: Qualifi Take Klipsch From Powermove

EXCLUSIVE: Qualifi the distributor of Marantz, Heos and Denon products in Australia is set to be appointed as the new distributor of Klipsch in Australia.

The appointment is set to be announced next week.

Michael Henriksen, QualiFi CEO said that his Company had been negotiating with Klipsch for several months. “we are looking forward to distributing the brand which when combined with the other products we distribute for the Klipsch Group allows us to gain some significant operational benefits such as shipping. Instead of 20ft containers we can now bring in 40 foot containers from one central warehouse”.

Late yesterday ChannelNews broke the story that Adelaide based distributor Powermove, had lost the Klipsch brand in Australia, the business was worth approximately $10.5 Million.

Klipsch sources confirmed the appointment, Qualifi management who are believed to currently be overseas, have not commented on the appointment.

ChannelNews understands that Indi Imports was also approached to pitch for the Klipsch business but declined due to their appointment as the distributor of the UK Q Acoustics brand.

Qualifi are currently the distributor of the Jamo audio brand which is also owned by the Klipsch Group.

Klipsch is currently set to launch several new products in Australia via Qualifi.

Recently the Klipsch Reference over-ear Bluetooth headphones won several awards in the USA.

The move to Qualifi will also see an expansion of the Klipsch Pro AV range of speakers in Australia.

Qualifi management are set to meet with Klipsch executives in Australia next week.

The concept of Powermove retaining part of the Klipsch business has been flately rejected by Klipsch sources.
